In this art project, we created whimsical spring rabbit portraits using paper planter cups, cardboard, and acrylic paint. Each student created a unique rabbit portrait from the cups, painting expressive faces and adding appliqué details such as bows, flowers, and ribbon to bring each character to life.
The rabbits were attached to cardboard backdrops cut into different shapes (rectangles, ovals, octagons) and painted with decorative motifs such as hearts, leaves, and lines.
The final gallery wall showcased a collection of the most charming rabbits!

Each spring, our spring rabbit project takes on a different style. Here, we explored black and white line art. Students drew stylized rabbits filled with patterns of dots, lines, and shapes.
The backgrounds were painted in abstract watercolour. The finishing touch was tissue paper flower accents.
Medium: watercolour on watercolour paper, Sharpie marker, tissue paper
