It's hard to believe these stunning florals are made of simple paper plates! Students created vibrant 3-dimensional flowers by colour-blocking the plates with tempera paint to build bold, expressive surfaces. Once dry, students cut out sections of negative space to form layered petals.
Three plates were stacked and secured to add depth, then each petal was gently curled to give the flowers a sculptural effect. Finally, students added hand-painted leaves to complete their blooming paper creations.
This was one of my favourite and most memorable projects.
